“Go online and have a look at what dealerships have to offer that sort of suits what kind of vehicle you’re looking for, and then narrow it down to maybe 5 or 10 cars that really catches your eye and then from there. It saves the consumer a lot of time by going online and sort of narrowing things down to a few specific examples. You can do your online research first and then make appointments with dealers to come and see them or, pop in and come look at the vehicles physically on the floor. “

5. Asif Majid, Dealer Principal from Motus Toyota Parktown shared his 5 top tips for anyone looking to buy a used car in Parktown.
“When looking at a vehicle you should start off by looking at mileage and then services, finally the engine because the engine is the heart of the car. Without an engine the car is not going to move. The next thing would be to check the condition of the driver’s seat. The driver seat tells me a lot when I evaluate the value. You know they’ve kept in good condition. So the driver’s seat is the second one. Finally, just do a check of the overall condition, a thorough one too, don’t be afraid to get your hands in there to check for grime. ”
